Comparing two burials at Kuntur Wasi

The Tokyo museum documentation distinguishes the grave goods and bodies of the tombs, rather than pooling all the gold into an anonymous treasure. The fourteen-faced crown corresponded to tomb 1, with an elderly man buried in a flexed position. In tomb 2, another crown with five jaguar faces surrounded the skull of an also elderly man, an arrangement indicating it was worn at burial. These data relate form, position and person. They do not recover names, but allow studying differences between concrete funerary treatments within the same centre.
