History and context

The intact tomb contained an inhumed woman and a cremated man with an exceptional aristocratic assemblage.

Representative objects: pectoral, large fibula, bracelets, necklace, tableware, bed, shields and three chariots.

Evidence and interpretation

Documented fact: The intact tomb contained an inhumed woman and a cremated man with an exceptional aristocratic assemblage. Mandatory caution: The two rites cannot be automatically explained by sex, ethnicity or faith. The Roman section later compares inscribed memory, not simple funerary continuity.

A fibula concentrated knowledge from several places

The Regolini-Galassi parade fibula combines repoussé, punching, cutting and granulation: tiny spheres joined to the metal delineate figures and motifs. The Vatican Museums identify Levantine contributions in griffins, palmettes and a Hathor head. The object transforms a dress-fastening system into a demonstration of technique and connections. Its repertoire does not prove that each figure retained exactly the meaning of its place of origin. It shows how Etruscan workshops selected and recomposed Mediterranean images for their own aristocratic context.
