History and context A lararium from the Vilauba villa preserved figures of Fortuna, a Lar and Mercury. Together they organised protection, prosperity and relation with the divine within a rural holding.
Separating attributes avoids repeated errors: the cornucopia corresponds to Fortuna. The set speaks of domestic practice and modern restoration, not of a complete private pantheon.
Evidence and interpretation Group find, iconographic identifications and provenance are documented. Exact position in each rite and words spoken are not preserved.

A set that perhaps contained another figure The 1987 excavation recovered the statuettes alongside wood remains that may have belonged to a box. Each figure had a small conical pedestal; moreover, a quadrangular base appeared, accompanied by fragments of a tail and a hind leg of a bronze horse. The Banyoles Museum considers that these remains point to another piece today incomplete. The preserved lararium, therefore, does not necessarily equal the original set. It is a good occasion to distinguish between the recognisable divinities and what can only be partially reconstructed, without assigning a sure name to the lost figure.
