Daily life
Specialists devoted years to learning the recitations; that training was not the everyday life of the whole population.

History and context
Learning a recitation required years of listening, repetition and accent control; that discipline was part of the life of specific specialists, not of all inhabitants of northern India.
Wattle-and-daub houses, grain, animal bones and excavated tools offer another scale: cooking, cultivating and repairing. Combining both records allows us to show a plural society without making the priest the universal everyday person.
Evidence and interpretation
Documented fact: UNESCO and IGNCA document specialised oral techniques, while ASI records perishable-material houses and agricultural subsistence in PGW horizons. Interpretation and caution: A normative Brahmanical tradition and a regional archaeological assemblage do not automatically describe the same community, date or social position.

A small building may be a storehouse
At Hulas, ASI identified a circular structure with an interior space of only about 1.5 metres in diameter, foundation trench, small post-holes and rammed clay floor. Its size led to proposing a storage function. The interpretation arises from relating dimensions and constructive traits, not simply from calling «house» any enclosed plan. This late Harappan example allows expanding the domestic scale of the tour: storage spaces for provisions could require different solutions from those destined for cooking, working or sleeping.
